REDEFINING THE RITUAL

An everyday object designed around the person, their space, and the ritual surrounding it.

THE USER

Design-conscious outdoor user
Values: aesthetics · simplicity · durability · personalization

For the design-conscious outdoor user, rituals don’t stop when they leave home. Their gear moves with them from weekend camping trips to days at the lake, so they value products that are durable, portable, easy to maintain, and thoughtfully designed without feeling overly rugged or utilitarian.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Durable. Modular. Portable. Cleanable. Personal.

A product designed to move with the user, protect itself from the environment, and remain visually intentional wherever the ritual takes place.

THE EXPLORATION

The research showed that modularity should be a constraint so through ideation I found a shape that best supported that function.

SKETCH MODELS

The sketch models showed me that the cylinder-circle-cone design best supported modularity and would allow a silicone removable outer shell.

DIGITAL RENDERS

I chose to include multiple color ways because most water pipes available for purchase offer these customizations.

FINAL MODELS

3D Printed with PLA (white to represent glass) and TPU (pink to represent silicone))

I used pink TPU for the final model because it was the most eye catching color available in TPU at the phoenix microcenter.
